Celebrating all the milestones together- big and small. Happy birthday to our beautiful girl. You are brave, strong, and full of so much light 💛 It has been an honour to have you in our care, and we can’t wait to see all that the world has in store for you 🥺

Our newest little one started today 🥺

She was born earlier this year and we’ve been waiting for her to grow strong enough to be in our care (and for her brave mamma to be ready to go back to school).

Our centre is now officially at full capacity, with a 1:2 staff-to-baby ratio so each little one receives the love, attention, and nurturing they deserve.

We’re currently raising funds to hire a third caretaker so we can open space for two more babies who are still waiting.

Absolutely blown away by this belated Christmas gi

Absolutely blown away by this belated Christmas gift from a few of our private donors.

They contacted us in December asking if there’s anything we need. We shared our wish-list and they went above and beyond 😭 more than we could’ve even imagined.

Look at that laminating machine!!!! The care takers are SO excited to print more things and make our house feel like a home.

The babies are already loving all the toys and the cherry on the top was a special gift for the young mothers. We didn’t share these needs and the donors (a group of young moms themselves) went out and bought the girls some shoes, pads and school supplies.

When they say it takes a village, it really does. And we’re so incredibly grateful for ours 🥺🥺🥺 Thank you 🫶🏼 Our work wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of people just like you.

First week back🥹👏🏾👇🏾

We’ve welcomed two new babies into our care with a third (little newborn 🥺) coming in March.

Any mom knows how hard it is to leave your baby in someone else’s care. So proud of these new moms for being brave and trusting us with their most precious little ones.

We’re getting acquainted, finding our new rhythm, gently introducing them to our OGs, and soaking up all the tiny moments that make this work so special.

Full hearts, busy hands, and so much gratitude 💛

We’ve spent this last week of the school year celebrating all the growth our mammas and babies have made. 💛

We handed out report cards to our little babas and hosted a special celebration for their mammas. Women who not only made it through their baby’s first year, but also stayed in school. Two of our moms even passed matric this year, and we couldn’t be more proud. 🎓✨ Rural Reach remains a steady support as they step into work and life after school.

And in the new year, we’re excited to welcome three new babies into our care. 🤍

Wishing everyone a beautiful holiday season with your loved ones. We can’t wait to return in the new year and build on the strong foundation we’ve set together. 👏🏼🙌🏼

This post is dedicated to our brave mammas who, at the beginning of the year, were overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty:
How would they stay in school?
Who would watch their babies?
How would they manage it all?

And yet… they made it through the first year of their child’s life. Any parent knows that the first year is the hardest. It’s a HUGE accomplishment on its own, never mind doing it while staying in school full-time, studying, commuting, and juggling everything alone.

Every young mom we support is a single parent with little to no support. And that’s exactly where Rural Reach steps in.👇🏾

We provide for transport to and from our care centre. They drop their babies in the morning and fetch them in the afternoon.

They’re welcome to return later for a snack, to use our WiFi, finish homework, take a nap, use our computer, or simply spend time with their little ones in a safe and loving space.

We are here to support them in whatever way we can. And we are SO proud of the courage and resilience they’ve shown this year. ❤️

It helps them feel the strength of an entire community standing behind them. A tribe that believes in them, supports them, and prays for them as they continue building a brighter future for themselves and their babies.✨

These little babies have been in our care for almost a year now and it’s incredible to see how far they’ve come. Because of the daycare Rural Reach provides, two of the moms are on track to receive their matriculation this year (the other moms are in younger grades). We’re SO incredibly proud of their bravery and resilience to finish school.
